Announcement, Introducing Digital Sheet Music Downloads

guitar lesson

We are very pleased to announce that Presto Music now offer sheet music downloads! We recently added over 28,000 digitally available titles to our website, with more to come in the near future. We currently have digital sheet music offerings from Schott Music and Recital Music, with publishers Oxford University Press, Warwick Music, and Composer Edition to follow.

Digital sheet music is available for a vast range of instrumentalists, groups, and choirs, in a variety of styles and genres. If you are interested in having a look, you can find our current offerings here. Alternatively you can find digital sheet music under the filter results section, within 'Formats'.

Where relevant, titles with a physical equivalent are linked to the download edition, so you can choose which version you would like to purchase. This can be found in the 'Other available formats' section of the product page.

There are benefits to both digital and physical sheet music, but there are some key features of digital sheet music which we could previously not offer to customers:

piano

1. Digital downloads are often a cost effective alternative to print

2. Once purchased you can download your item immediately; no waiting for the post to arrive

3. You are able to print out your digital copy at home when you need it

4. In some instances you are able to purchase individual songs from within a collection, rather than purchasing the entire book

There are, however, a few things to bear in mind when purchasing digital sheet music products. We have prepared a handy list of answers for FAQs below:

Do I need to buy multiple copies of music for my choir or ensemble?

Yes. If you need multiple copies, you must order the amount needed. For example if you have twenty five members in your choir who all need copies, you must purchase twenty five copies: one for each user. In this instance, the item will be watermarked at the bottom with how many copies you are authorised you can make. Some items will have a minimum order quantity, as is the case with some printed products. For those titles you will need to order the specified amount or more to place an order for that item. This should be clear on the product listings.

I decided I no longer want my digital sheet music, can I get a refund?

Unfortunately not. We are unable to refund digital purchases. If there is an issue with your download, you can get in touch with us and we will try to help fix the issue, but unfortunately we are unable to refund orders for digital purchases. If you buy a title by mistake, we are still unable to issue a refund, as there is no possible route for returns due to the digital nature and immediate accessibility of the product.

Can I play from a tablet or laptop, or does the sheet music have to be printed?

Yes! You can download your sheet music onto any electronic device which can open PDFs. Our digital downloads are delivered as PDF files, so you can play your music straight from your device if you wish to. If you prefer to print out the music, that is also possible. The choice is yours.

Can I annotate my music?

Our sheet music downloads are protected so that the contents are not editable, but annotations are possible on certain devices if you have an application allowing you to write on PDF documents, such as Acrobat reader, or apps including Mobilesheets, Deepdish Gigbook, ForScore, or similar programmes.

Do I have to download my music straight away?

No, you can download the music whenever you like, though you will need an internet connection to do so.

Where can I find my downloads?

If you go to 'My account' you will see 'My Sheet Music Downloads' on the left hand side under 'Orders'. All of your previous sheet music downloads will be stored here if you need to redownload them in the future.

Can I print multiple times if for my personal use?

Yes. As long as you are printing for personal use that is fine. The restrictions are for sharing with others. If you are printing for personal use it is fine to reprint your copy if needs be.

What is the watermarking for?

We watermark downloads for copyright requirements. You can easily see in the watermarking how many copies you are allowed to use.

There is a problem with my download, what do I do?

If your download is faulty or not as described, please contact us as there are some things we can do to help. If the title is faulty we can get a replacement from the publisher for you. If the title is not as described on the product page, we may be able to offer an alternative.

sqHow do I tell the different between a printed product and a download product?

The image on the left is an example of a sheet music download product. You can see the format is 'Sheet Music Download' with a PDF icon next to it. You can see that the buy button clearly says 'Add PDF to basket', so hopefully it will be very clear whether you are purchasing a download rather than a physical product.
