Tony Allen
Tony Oladipo Allen was a Nigerian drummer and songwriter, who is largely credited as the primary co-founder of Afrobeat music. Born in Lagos, he spent much of his life in Paris. He was both the drummer and musical director of Fela Kuti's band, Africa '70, from 1968 to 1979.
